Why have a ton of products when you can have a few that work magnificently? That's what we love about Dr. Sam’s – the effectiveness and integrity of the brand. The brand also shows a marked dedication to skin science. Dr. Sam Bunting is a dermatologist from the UK who has spent an exponential amount of time researching what truly works for the skin, especially rosacea and acne-prone skin. Let’s talk about a few of our favorite products from the line.
Dr. Sam’s Flawless Neutralizing Gel - $45
This is a blend of salicylic acid and azelaic acid, and it works best for adults who want something that feels luxurious and gentle, but at the same time, has potent actives. It's also a great skin treatment for those who are pregnant and breastfeeding. This is the silkiest azelaic acid Cassandra has ever used, which is notable because azelaic acid can be a little chalky.
Offering a powerful but gentle solution to rosacea and acne, this also includes salicylic acid. This is very gentle and kind to the skin. It will not peel or strip the skin, making it a wonderful choice for those who experience redness.
Dr. Sam's Flawless Daily Sunscreen SPF 50 - $37
Cassandra says, “This is one of the best sunscreens I have ever used.” This goes on so smoothly. While some sunscreens may be greasy and irritating, this goes on like a moisturizer. Upon applying it, Cassandra would definitely say it soothes her skin, and she can use it as a moisturizer and a skin protectant throughout the day. She doesn't even need a moisturizer or a hydrating product underneath it. Additionally, it's a nice and fluffy product with shea butter.
This is a broad-spectrum sunscreen, meaning it has UVA and UVB protection. You'll always want to look for broad-spectrum sunscreens because they protect against UVA rays too. UVA rays penetrate the skin much more deeply, even through a window.
Dr. Sam’s Flawless Cleanser - $24
If you’re looking for a glossy silky cleanser, this is it. Cassandra loves this formula because of its smooth and hydrating nature. Without causing irritation or dryness, it gently removes sunscreen and makeup. You can use it for a double cleansing method or alongside a prescription cleanser from your doctor.
Dr. Sam’s Flawless Revival Mask - $36
Key ingredients: Shea butter, glycerin, squalane, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid.
The texture of this product is thick, but it's very hydrating. If you live in a dry climate or have dry skin, this works wonderfully. You can also layer it with other products. For instance, sometimes Cassandra will experience a combination of conditions on her skin. Some parts of her skin are oily and then others are very dry, but she can use this to treat dryness while accommodating oily patches. You can also use this along with other serums or a watery moisturizer, and the mask won't pill up.
Another thing Cassandra likes about this product is how it helps her eczema and psoriasis flares. She'll get eczema flairs on her body, her arms, and underneath her bust, and she'll actually apply this mask to hydrate those areas.
Then, it can either be left on or rinsed off.
Leave it on if you’re someone who gets dry skin and needs a hydrator. Use it as a mask and rinse it off if you have oily skin.
Dr. Sam’s Flawless Nightly Serum - $63
This has bakuchiol, a retinoid serum, azelaic acid, and allantoin. The allantoin makes it really softening to the skin. And if you can’t get a granactive retinoid, this might be the second-best thing. Cassandra would even consider it a level-up.
This has more of a moisturizing and creamy texture than moist retinoids. It goes on the skin so lovingly and gently, but it’s still so effective. The niacinamide and azelaic acid allow it to penetrate deeply, making it a wonderful solution for redness and hyperpigmentation.
Dr. Sam’s Flawless Moisturizer - $32
Key ingredients: Water, bakuchiol, shea butter, lactic acid, and niacinamide.
As mentioned before, Cassandra has psoriasis and keratosis pilaris, but she still loves using this body moisturizer. It’s exfoliating but also moisturizing. If you have psoriasis or keratosis pilaris, speak to a derm, but this product could be such a great addition. This moisturizer hydrates, which is actually great for these two conditions. This also works great after shaving because it will help with discoloration and bumps.
This cream could also help with discoloration under the arms. It also has great antioxidant components that will give the skin a glow. Cassandra also has sensitive acne-prone skin, and she doesn’t have to worry about body breakouts when she uses this.
This is a wonderfully nourishing product for the lips that you don't have to use over and over again.
